Philip is Vice President and Head of Asset Stewardship Reporting at State Street Global Advisors, which is one of the world’s largest asset managers with nearly $3.9 trillion in assets under management. In his role, Philip is responsible for leading engagements with board directors of portfolio companies on corporate strategy and ESG issues and for proxy voting activities in the EMEA region. Philip is also leading the company’s global reporting function on stewardship activities.


Before joining State Street Global Advisors, Philip worked as a Corporate Governance Manager at Fidelity International responsible for the company’s proxy voting and engagement activities in a number of European countries and North America.
Prior to his position at Fidelity, Philip was Deputy Head of Research at Manifest, the proxy voting agency, leading a team of analysts and being responsible for the editing and publication of ESG research reports covering Europe, US and Asia.


Philip sits on the UK Investment Association’s Sustainability and Responsible Investment Committee. He is also a member of the Investment Leaders Group at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership and a member of the UK Corporate Governance Forum.

He is a data scientist with more than 10 years of experience. He has worked with decision makers from companies of all sizes: from startups to organisations like, the US Navy, Vodafone and British Land. His work expands multiple sectors including fintech (fraud detection and valuation models), sports analytics, healtech, general AI, medical statistics, predictive maintenance and others. He has worked with many different types of technologies, from statistical models, to deep learning to blockchain and he has 2 patents pending to his name.


He has also helped many people follow a career in data science and technology.


He is a member of the Royal Statistical Society, honorary research fellow at the UCL Centre for Blockchain Technologies, a data science advisor for London Business School and CEO of The Tesseract Academy.


A natural polymath, with a PhD in Machine Learning and degrees in Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Psychology, and Economics he loves using his broad skillset to solve difficult problems and help companies improve their efficiency.”
