Dr. Dimitrios N. Koufopoulos BSc, MBA, PhD, MCMI, MFSA, FIB

Founding and Managing Partner

Dimitrios holds a B.Sc. degree in Business Administration from the Athens University of Business and Economics (former ASOEE) and an MBA and PhD degree from Cardiff University. He is Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants, Member of the Chartered Institute of Management, member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment and Academic Member of the European Corporate Governance Institute.

He started his professional career as an accountant and then joined the Cardiff Business School as a Researcher and Lecturer specializing in strategic management. In 2002, he moved to Brunel University where he is currently Senior Lecturer in International Management and Strategy.   He has taught as visiting Lecturer in both British and American institutions and currently serves as an Adjunct Faculty at Universitas21 (www.u21global.edu.sg), the Hellenic Open University (www.eap.gr) , Laureate –Liverpool and Laureate-Roehampton.

He has served as a member in the Corporate Affairs Committee at the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) from September 2004 to 2008 (www.managers.org.uk), which is an advisory committee to the Board of Trustees.

He is a Company Secretary of the EU-MAP Consulting –a specialized Public Affairs and Lobbying consultancy company (www.eumap-consulting.eu). He was Head of the Management Research unit at the Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER- www.atiner.gr ).


Dr. Ioannis P. Gkliatis BSc, MSc, PGCert, PhD, MCMI, FHEA

Senior Research Associate

Yiannis holds a BSc in Business Administration from La Verne University and received an MSc degree from Brunel University in HR and ER. His doctoral thesis—also from Brunel University—is in the area of corporate governance and is focusing on board roles and the impact of the external environment.

After a few years of teaching experience in UK institutions, he is currently a Senior Lecturer in Strategic Management at the University of Hertfordshire. His primary research interest is on corporate governance, strategy, planning, boards of directors, decision making and corporate reputation. Dr. Aspasia Pastra BSc, MSc, MBA, PhD

Research Associate

Aspasia Pastra holds a B.Sc. degree in Public Administration, specializing in economics, from Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences in Athens and an MBA from Cardiff University. She was granted a scholarship in memory of the ship-owner George P. Livanos for the World Maritime University in Sweden and received an MSc in Maritime Administration. Also, she has completed her PhD from Brunel University.

She also attended a Master Course in Research Methods of Social Sciences in the Lund University, Sweden.

She has extensive experience in shipping as she worked for many years in shipping companies either as an Internal Auditor or as an economist.


Konstantinos Athanasiadis BSc, MSc

Research Assistant

Konstantinos holds a B.Sc. degree in Economics from University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, Greece and an M.Sc. degree in Management with a specialization in Technology and Innovation Management from Brunel University, London.

Konstantinos has been part of international exchange programs in Italy and in Russia.
His research interests are focused on the Boards of Directors of Maritime firms and on the Maritime sector in general.


Maria Monopati BSc, MSc

Research Assistant

Maria Monopati holds a B.Sc. degree in Sociology from Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences in Athens, Greece and an M.Sc. degree in Human Resources Management from Brunel University, London.

Maria has worked as a Customer Service Coordinator in two multinational companies in Athens.

From 2011 she has been also volunteering as a music therapist for children with autistic spectrum disorders and learning difficulties.

Currently, she conducts research on the Boards of Directors of Greek SOEs.


Stefania Moysidou

Research Assistant

Stefania is psychologist at Hellenic Center for Disease Control & Prevention working at the refugee reception center of Diavata, Thessaloniki. She also works as a psychologist and research associate with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She received her degree in psychology (2006) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She has training, clinical and research experience in the fields of Cognitive – Behavioral Psychotherapy and neuropsychology and psychometrics. She has worked for NGOs and the Hellenic police (Division of Aliens and Border Protection, Department of illegal migration), as well as psychological consultant with sports Academies. She has participated as a speaker and a trainer in a number of Greek and International conferences and workshops, and as assistant in a number research projects.


Georgios Nastos BSc, MSc

Research Assistant 

Georgios is currently working as a Consultant in the financial industry. In the past he has worked as an Analytics Consultant in the retail and FMCG industries as well as a Marketing executive.

In 2014 he completed his MSc in Management studies at Brunel University London and he also holds a BSc in International & European Economic Studies from University of Macedonia (Thessaloniki, Greece).

At HOCG, he is in charge of the Greek football clubs’ and football industry’s research. He is a big football fan and has also been a football referee in the Greek amateur league.


Anna Dimou

Research Assistant

Anna Dimou has had a five years experience working as a secretary in the Greek Miner’s Federation. In 2004 started working in administrative positions for the Municipality of Athens and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. From 2010 has been working as freelancer for e-culture organisations.


Eirene Louvari

Research Assistant

Eirene holds a bachelor degree in Theology (2008) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In 2016 she has joined the Hellenic Observatory of Corporate Goverancne as a research assistant, engaging in the study of boards of directors for important Greek industry sectors, like shipping, health sector, listed companies etc.


Michail Fygkioris, BSc, MSc

Research Associate

Michail holds a B.Sc. degree in Economics from University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, Greece. Additionally, he obtained an M.Sc. degree from Birkbeck, University of London specialising in Business Innovation and International Management. His interests include stock and foreign exchange markets, computing and innovation systems. Among other activities, he conducts research regarding the Boards of Directors of the listed companies in Athens Stock Exchange.

Dimitra Ioanna Lampropoulou PharmD, Msc, MRPharmS

Dimitra holds a degree in Pharmacy (Doctor of Pharmacy) from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, a Master’s Degree in Specialization in Clinical Pharmacy from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a License to practice pharmacy in Greece and UK.

She is also a member of General Pharmaceutical Council, Panhellenic Association of Pharmacists and Royal Pharmaceutical Society. Dimitra had been a pharmacy owner in Greece for three years. She is currently leading the HOCG project on corporate governance practices and in particular the board of directors in Greek hospitals and its characteristics.

Dimitra Thanasoula BSc, MSc

Dimitra aligned for the first time with Gnosis Management Consultants on April 2010 as a part time research assistant and she resumed  in August 2013 as a research assistant at the Hellenic Observatory of Corporate Governance. She fulfilled her BSc requirements in Psychology at La Verne University in CA, USA and received an MSc from Brunel University in UK (awarded with the Alexander S. Onassis scholarship) in Human Resources Management.

In 2010 her key research concentration became the shipping sector, due to her working background at Shipping and Management Co. Ltd situated in UK. Presently, she is leading the HOCG project on the Athens Stock Exchange.
